Stonhard Solves Flooring Issues for Cheese Manufacturer

Slippery, Outdated Flooring Created Safety Risks in High-Traffic Production Area

A Georgia food manufacturer had been grappling with flooring challenges in its Atlanta facility. For over a decade, the area leading into their cheese production hallway featured outdated red brick tiles. The concrete was compromised, and the surface had become slippery, posing safety concerns for staff as well as diminished traction for forklift wheels. These conditions caused inefficient and potentially hazardous movement between spaces. The company needed a reliable flooring solution to improve safety and functionality in this high-traffic area. Stonhard seamless, urethane flooring was the answer.

A seamless Stonclad UR flooring system with textured topcoat delivers a safe, durable surface for foot and forklift traffic.

Outdated brick tiles and worn concrete create unsafe conditions and poor traction. Stonhard seamless flooring is a long-term solution.

Seamless, Slip-Resistant Urethane Flooring Provides Long-Term Safety and Durability

Stonhard delivered a comprehensive flooring solution designed for durability and safety. Using chipping hammers, installers removed the old brick tiles and prepared the substrate. Stonset TG6, a fast-setting, troweled polyurethane grout was applied to restructure the slope of the facility’s ramp, creating a smooth and effective transition into the production hallway.

Finally, Stonclad UR, a heavy-duty urethane mortar system was installed with a textured epoxy topcoat, Stonkote HT4, for crucial slip resistance. The result is a seamless, high-performance floor built to withstand constant foot and forklift traffic with the added benefits of improved safety and efficiency.
