Hope’s Country Fresh Cookies operates a commercial bakery offering all-natural, freshly-baked gourmet cookies out of their facility in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Over six years, the bakery’s epoxy-coated floors deteriorated under the rigors of food production with exposure to extreme temperature shifts, constant moisture, and vigorous sanitation procedures. A new flooring system would need to deliver durability, protection from thermal shock and cycling, and meet strict hygiene protocols. Where the bakery had once chosen a basic floor coating, they were now more receptive to a long-term solution over a quick fix.

Stonhard installed a poured flooring system designed to handle the bakery’s intense operational conditions. To minimize disruption to operations, Stonhard scheduled the installation over the bakery’s holiday shutdown period. Using three scarifiers, the existing floor was stripped in just one day, removing all remnants of the failing floor coating. Over the clean substrate, Stonhard installers applied Stonclad
UT, a high-performance urethane mortar flooring system. In areas that required rebuilding around equipment pads, Stonclad UR was used to restore durability.
