In the Uinta National Forest of Kamas, the YMCA of Northern Utah hosts its Mill Hollow youth camp summer program, providing adventure and exploration along with lessons on ecology, animals, and nature. Staff members saw the need to replace the outdated floors in two cabin bathrooms with a seamless, easy-to-clean option.

Stonhard recommended Stontec ERF, a high-performance decorative flake epoxy floor known for its durability and stain resistance. Due to the remote mountainside location of the cabins, installation crews rented an RV to stay on-site during the project. The installation involved troweling a 1/8” layer of Stonclad GS epoxy mortar system on the newly secured plywood subfloors of the cabin bathrooms.

A continuous epoxy flooring system supports moisture control and durability along the main hallway of the YMCA’s bathroom and shower facility.
In the shower area, seamless epoxy floors and cove bases prevent water intrusion and simplify cleaning in this high-moisture environment.

Stonclad GS was used to create coves at the wall, adding an extra layer of hygienic protection. Following this preparation, over 700 sq. ft. of Stontec ERF was installed. Its non-porous, water and stain resistant surface offers easy cleaning and maintenance, making it an ideal choice for moisture-prone spaces like bathrooms where frequent cleaning is required. After learning of its benefits, the YMCA elected to have Stonhard apply a urethane coating to the drywall in their main bathroom/shower facility using Stonglaze VSE. The YMCA staff was so delighted with the outcome, they expressed interest in working with Stonhard on future projects.
