Belmont University’s Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine required a flooring solution for its new anatomy and cadaver laboratories that would support the institution’s commitment to innovation in medical education.
Anatomy laboratories present unique demands on flooring due to frequent cleaning protocols and contact with various, harsh substances. Project planners sought a floor that would stand up to these exposures while offering easy maintenance, infection control support, and comfort underfoot for students and faculty who spend long hours in the space. Additional goals included a floor that would provide long-term performance and an attractive aesthetic suited to a modern medical education environment.
As a new-build project, the flooring installation would need to align with the construction schedule’s specific requirements.
Stonres RTZ flooring provides a seamless, resilient surface throughout this anatomy and cadaver laboratory.
Designed for demanding laboratory environments, Stonres RTZ delivers comfort underfoot, stain resistance and easy maintenance for students and faculty.
Stonhard’s Stonres RTZ, a resilient urethane flooring system, was identified as the ideal solution for the 5,000 sq. ft. laboratory environment. Specifically designed for healthcare and educational environments, this seamless, easy-to-clean floor eliminates grout lines and welds that can harbor dirt and contaminants. Stonres RTZ also provides comfort underfoot and sound-absorbing properties, creating a conducive learning environment for students and instructors during lengthy laboratory sessions.
Stonres RTZ is unique, offering all the benefits of a resilient, stain resistant, seamless flooring system while providing an attractive and contemporary micro terrazzo design.
